  1. Goals (the district's words)

    • “eliminating the part-time custodian position and reallocating its essential cleaning duties to the food services delivery driver will significantly enhance productivity, improve staff time utilization, and generate cost savings for the department.”
    • “There is no cost to the general fund associated with this item.”

The Unaudited Actuals show Cafeteria Fund (Fund 13) classified salaries of $721,068.56 in 2024-25 and $834,962.03 in 2025-26. Those totals cover all Food Services classified staff, and the department grew during this time: in April 2025 the board approved added Food Services staffing to expand fresh meal production. Because of that, the totals can't show the effect of this one change. A short comparison from the district of the former custodian position and the driver's added hours would make it possible to share the result.

What would settle it: The cost of the eliminated part-time Central Kitchen custodian position compared with the added cost of increasing the delivery driver's hours from 27.5 to 32.5 per week.

  2. Goals (the district's words)

    • “The estimated fiscal impact will be an annual cost savings of approximately $78,736.”
    • “This will result in net budget savings, given the vacant ESA position will not be filled.”

The district's standard year-end report, the 2025-26 Unaudited Actuals (approved September 2026), shows general fund classified salaries as one district-wide total ($13,324,024.69), which is normal for this report. Because it doesn't list individual positions, it can't show the estimated $78,736 in yearly savings. A short follow-up from the district on this change would make it possible to share the result.

What would settle it: Costs for the vacant Educational Services Assistant position compared with the new Educational Services Technician position (the district estimated about $78,736 a year in savings).

  3. Goals (the district's words)

    • “The new completion date for the project is anticipated to be May 1, 2025.”
    • “The project is still anticipated to return contingency once complete.”

Partly met · Review date May 1, 2025 · Not yet invited

Cost: met. The district reported a final project cost of $49,683,159, which is $21,343 below the $49,704,502 contract value that included the contingency, so some contingency was left unspent, as the district anticipated. Schedule: about a month later than anticipated. The district reported the contractor completed its work as of May 31, 2025, compared with the anticipated May 1, 2025. The board accepted the work and filed a Notice of Completion on September 9, 2025.
